Abstract
The title of this final report is “The Study of Pre-Wedding Customs of Batak Toba Tribe”. The problems are what are the stages of rituals that must be followed by Batak Toba tribe in pre-wedding procession, and who are involved in pre-wedding procession. The purposes are to find out what are the stages of rituals that must be followed by Batak Toba tribe in pre-wedding procession and to know who are involved in pre-wedding procession. The method of this research was qualitative descriptive method. The writer collected the data through interview, observation, and documentation. The sample is the pre-wedding procession of Asri Yulinda Pratama br. Sinaga and Gomgom Manik. Based on the finding, the writer concludes that Batak Toba people are still doing all of the pre-wedding ceremony, but there are some ceremonies which are carried out on the same day, they are Marhori-hori dinding- Patua Hata/Marhusip and Martumpol-Marhata Sinamot. Meanwhile in the theory, all of the steps must be performed on the different days
