Abstract
The purpose of this study is to find the process of designing an booklet to promote Tanjung Pering Garden as a new tourism destination in Ogan Ilir. In this study, the writer used Research and Development (R&D) method with two step: preliminary study and model development by simplifying Sukmadinata’s (2005) R&D model. In the preliminary study, a text draft and design of an booklet are made based on the information got from literature study and data from the interview and observation. The information of Tanjung Pering Garden and the writing skill are used to write the text of booklet. In addition, the information about how to make booklet and designing skills of using software application, namely canva used to design the booklet. In model development, were four experts in limited testing, commented: content, languages (Indonesian and English) and design. The draft text was revised by adding information about the price ticket to Tanjung Pering Garden, add description about the facilities Tanjung Pering Garden and improving capitalization, mistakes in unnecessary words, addition for better structure, plural, contraction, and wrong word choice. In addtion, the draft design was revised by adding logo of Polytechnic Sriwijaya and Pesona Indonesia. The booklet of Tanjung Pering Garden is expected to be a medium to promote about Tanjung Pering Garden
