Abstract
The purpose of this final report is to find out the steps of designing news article script for teenagers to promote songket as traditional woven fabric in Palembang. In this final report, to get the purpose, the writer used research and development method by Sukmadinata (2005). The results show that there are 3 stages to make the news article script to promote songket as traditional woven fabric in Palembang. They are preliminary study, product development, final product testing and dissemination. There were seven experts participated as participants to give comments and suggestions on content, language, and news article. The comments and suggestions from the experts were used to revised the first version into final version. The writer used stages of script writing to write the final draft script of news article by Friedmann (2006), they were: background research and investigation, concept, pitching, treatment, first draft, revision and final draft.
