Abstract

Laporan akhir ini berjudul “Komputerisasi Sistem Informasi Perpustakaan pada SMA Negeri 2 Banyuasin 1”. Penulisan laporan akhir ini bertujuan untuk merancang sistem informasi perpustakaan yang akan diterapkan pada SMA Negeri 2 Banyuasin 1 guna membantu pekerjaan petugas perpustakaan menjadi lebih cepat, efektif, dan efisien. Laporan ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dan pengelolaan informasi yang diperoleh penulis melalui pengamatan, riset lapangan, wawancara, dokumentasi, dan studi kepustakaan. Tahapan pengembangan sistem informasi yang dirancang yaitu: Metode eksplorasi, metode analisis data, perancangan, desain aplikasi, pengujian aplikasi, implementasi sistem pada perpustakaan SMA Negeri 2 Banyuasin 1. Perancangan sistem informasi perpustakaan ini berisi tentang pengelolaan pencatatan data perpustakaan, pencarian data dan pembuatan laporan. Proses pengelolaan data perpustakaan dengan melakukan penginputan melalui form-form serta pencarian data dan pembuatan laporan menjadi lebih cepat melalui menu yang tersedia pada aplikasi sistem informasi perpustakaan. Pencarian data pada Microsoft Access 2010 menjadi lebih cepat yang hanya membutuhkan kurang lebih dari satu menit untuk menemukan data buku, peminjaman buku dan pengembalian buku. Penulis menggunakan metode analisis PIECES untuk membandingkan sistem manual dengan sistem informasi yang dibuat dan dapat dilihat bahwa sistem informasi jauh lebih baik dari pada sistem manual baik dari segi kinerja sistem, informasi yang disajikan, ekonomis sistem, keamanan, efisiensi dan pelayanan.
