Abstract
(Rachmaniah, 2014, 45 pages) This final report discusses the Analysis of Major and Minor Characters in Death of a Salesman by Arthur Miller. The main purposes of this report are to know the major and minor characters of the play and the characterization reflected by those characters. The research methodology of this final report is qualitative research method. The result of this report shows that the main character of the play is Willy Loman that acts many different characters according to the events of the play such as high-tempered, loving, caring, sensitive, arrogant, and romantic. Then, the minor characters that come to support the story of the play are Linda Loman, the wife of Willy Loman that acts as a very patient woman, and their two sons, Biff and Happy. The conclusion shows that Willy Loman is categorized as a round or dynamic character, Linda is categorized as static or flat character, Biff and Happy are categorized as round or dynamic character. The suggestion for all readers is to be able in taking and applying the good characters in daily life. Key words: Drama, character, major and minor characters, characterization, round character, and flat character.
