Abstract

This final report analyzes the use of slang words in the Netflix series "On My Block" script. The research method is a qualitative descriptive analysis, where the researcher collects and analyzes the script data to find the slang words. The results showed that the types of slang words found include imitative, fresh and creative, clipping, compounding, and acronym. The analysis provides insights into how slang is used in modern youth dialogue portrayed in popular media. The findings can contribute to understanding sociolinguistic aspects of slang language use.
