Abstract

The objective of this study was to develop a short story entitled “You Are You” as a medium to introduce the importance of self-love. This study applied the Research and Development (R&D) method using ADDIE model: Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The short story was designed using elements of narrative writing, including theme, characters, setting, plot, and moral values, with a focus on self-love, self-acceptance, and personal growth. The product was developed and evaluated through experts validation and readers’ responses to ensure its clarity, relevance, and effectiveness as a learning medium. The final product was presented in both printed and digital (Wattpad) formats. The results of this study indicated that the developed short story could be used as an engaging and meaningful literary work to promote the importance of self-love. It was expected that this product would help readers develop self-awareness, self-confidence, and a more positive perspective toward themselves.
