Abstract

INTERFACE SYSTEM ON ARDUINO BASED DIGITAL REFLECTION MICROSCOPE 2015 : XVI + 72Pages + 44 Images + 8 Tables + 33 Attachments Duta Inti Prana 061230320199 Jurusan Teknik Elektro Program Studi Teknik Elektronika Politeknik Negeri Sriwijaya Microscope is an instrument used to observe microscopic objects which the current most used type is the conventional microscope. With technological advancement, we can design a microscope with digital system by using modified webcam and a laptop to display the observation result and to control it. Focus configuration, lighting and sample disc rotation, all of these are directly controlled from the laptop.To connect Arduino Uno with the laptop, we need interface system. This interface system takes a form of custom built program in the laptop and it functions to transmit certain characters to the Arduino Uno. Then the Arduino Uno will work based on the character input from the laptop. Every single character have different instructions, for example, to rotate the servo motor clockwise or counter clockwise, to rotate stepper motor clockwise or counter clockwise to a certain degrees and configuring PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) value to change the light intensity from LED Array to the object.
