Abstract
“Premium Purity Level Detector Using Gas Sensor TGS 2620” Restian Dwi Wijaya; ( 2016 : 57 Pages ) Premium is a kind of gasoline marketed in Indonesia. Its specification is based on the regulation issued by General Director of Oil and Petroleum with the number 933.K/10/DJM.S/2013, November 19, 2013, with octane number 88. Premium is used as fuel of vehicle engines specially designed and constructed to use premium as their fuel. When the price of premium increases, there’s tendency of retail premium sellers to mix some amount of certain liquids into premium gasoline to gain more profit. Visually, there’s no contrast difference between standard premium of PT Pertamina and premium mixed with some amount of certain liquids which causes the vapor pressure increases. Therefore, this research has been conducted to measure premium purity level using gas sensor TGS 2620. Gas sensor TGS 2620 was used at room temperature. Then, Gas sensor TGS 2620 was used to determine the premium purity level that obtained from PT Pertamina, SPBU Rambang, retail premium seller on Bukit Besar Palembang, and mixed premium on Sungai Angit Musi Banyuasin. based on the measurements, found that purity level of premium that sold by retail premium seller on Bukit Besar Palembang was still in accordance with the standard quality of premium PT Pertamina and also not too far from purity level of premium SPBU Rambang and PT Pertamina. Whereas mixed premium on Sungai Angit Musi Banyuasin was not in accordance with the standard quality of premium PT Pertamina.
