Abstract

This report discusses the process of designing the Songket booklet. The purpose of this research is to design the booklet of Palembang traditional songket. The writer used the Research and Development method modified by Sukmadinata (2005). The method consists of three steps; preliminary study, model development and final product testing. Experts’ comments were valuable in designing final product of Songket booklet. The “Songket” booklet consists of 16 pages in A5 paper size, provides information about songket history, variant motifs, galleries, tips, as well as information on songket as Palembang cultural heritage which was described in both Indonesian and English. This Palembang traditional songket booklet is expected as an effective media to give knowledge and information to people about Palembang traditional songket to make it becomes Palembang cultural heritage.
