Abstract
The goal of this research consist of some goals. First, to decrease the oil and fat and the other measurement parameters such as BOD,COD and pH from industrial liquid waste. Second, to determine permeability and selectivity (flux and rejection). Third and the last of determine the optimum operating condition from variable that is used (variation of preassure and the consentration of the coagulant) toward the treatment of industrial liqiud waste of palm oil industries. Crude palm oil waste from Unit laboratory physical chemistry Politeknik Negeri Sriwijaya State, and then, in this research used pretreatment is alumunuim sulphate coagulation process is current the crude palm oil waste. In the membrane composite with a pore size 1,4 µ m, diameter 7cm, thickness 0,25 µ m. and the value of membrane flux is 21,83 L/jam.bar. For the rejection value, from four measurement parameters that is measured, the optimum operating condition for variation of preassure 0,5-2,5 bar (range 0,5) is at the preassure of 0,5 bar. For pH rejection, the optimum operating condition is on the addition of 200 ppm coagulation the value is 14,47%. For oil and fat rejection, the optimum operating condition is on the addition of 200 ppm coagulation the value is 95,79%. For BOD rejection, the optimum operating condition is on the addition of 150 ppm coagulation the value is 88,28%. For COD rejection, the optimum operating condition is on the addition of 100 ppm coagulation the value is 76,04%. Based on research, it can be conclude that the bigger the value of pressure, the bigger the value of flux that resulted, meanwhile the smaller the value of rejection.
