Abstract
An induction motor is an electrical device that converts electrical energy into mechanical energy. Induction motors have advantages and disadvantages. Weaknesses of current induction motor is the onset of the first major result in the reduction of stress on the channel that will disrupt other equipment connected to the same line. So that it does not happen, then the soft starting of motors is needed with starting. Soft starting is done by using power electronics components are anti-parallel thyristors mounted on the stator winding circuit to regulate the voltage gradually induction motor, induction motor while the input voltage is set by setting the angle of the thyristor rectifier at a certain time. The angle is set by the control unit rectifier 6 pulses. Large output voltage induction motor when the motor is connected star with rectifier 180o angle setting of 230 V while the output voltage induction motor when the motor is connected star with rectifier 0o angle setting is 0 V. The output voltage large induction motor when the motor is connected star with 180o angle setting rectifier is 218 V while the output voltage induction motor when the motor is connected star with rectifier 0o angle setting is 0 V.
