Abstract
power system, the protection system is an important component to maintain the continuity and reliability of electricity distribution. Protection system serves to protect the equipment from damage in the event of interference as well as to avoid widespread disruption to localize. In this case the protection system used is the differential protection relay on 20 MVA transformers at substations sungai juaro. The workings of the differential relay is a way to make the current setting is greater than the differential current relay because it includes the percentage differential relay. Based on the results of the calculations have been done magnitude of the differential current is 2.6 A and 3 A Isetting. So Isetting> Id so that the relay will not work and the system is in normal state. With this tool, we can realize the expected power system more secure in terms of security and reliability that do not harm humans and the environment, as well as minimize the risk of damage to electrical transmission equipment that are considered vital.
