Abstract

This final report describe the working principle of the ultrasonic sensors to measure the distance of a room using ATMEGA16 microcontroller as the central control system in the form of minimum and ping sensor as a proximity sensor that is used. The results of the measured distance is displayed in the PC or laptop with a sound system. using a serial or USB TTL communication system of the microcontroller to a PC or laptop. To measure the distance using a ruler is limited distance that we can measure. But along with the development of technology has many tools that we can use as a measuring tool, in order to facilitate man in the measurement of the distance that can not be reached by measuring ruler in general. Ultrasonic sensor is one sensor that is used as a measurement of the distance to the measuring limit of 300 cm.Sensor ultrasonic distance using the speed of sound to measure distances. The speed of sound is 340 m / s, thus if an unknown time between sending signals and receiving signals, it will be calculated the distance between the transmitter and receiver.
