Abstract
Biobriquettes is alternative energy to replace fuel. Biobriquettes that produced from organic materials or an agricultural waste (biomass) that is less usefull. In this research biobriquettes that produced was made from part base of coconut frond by using adhesive leaves hibiscus and the methods used to this research is experimental method. The purpose of this research is knowing the influence of the ratio biobriquettes coconut frond (Cocos nucifera) with adhesive hibiscus leaves (Hibiscus rosa-sinensis L) on the quality of biobriquettes from moisture content, ash content, volatile matter ,the value of fixed carbon, and the heat value appropriate standard SNI and the results of burning biobriquettes with varying an adhesive composition appeal raw materials with the base weight 10 grams by comparison 10:90, 20:80 ,30:70 and 40:60. In the making of biobriquettes it took several stages, preparation of the raw material, raw material analysis beginning, carbonization, briquetting and analysis of the product. On carbonization, carbonization temperature used is 500 °C with size of 60 Mesh fineness. From the results of this research were obtained the best optimum ratio characteristics of biobriquettes from part base of coconut frond that approximates the standard SNI obtained in the variation comparison of adhesive appeal material 20:80 with a total weight of each biobriquettes by 10 grams with a value of moisture content 1.29%, ash content 7,96%, volatile matter 35.88%, value of fixed carbon amount 54.87% and heat value of 5.433 Cal/gr with the time of the initial lighting for 13 seconds and old flame for 114,53 minutes. All biobriquettes products are generated, not causing the smoke after the fire. This indicates that adhesive hibiscus leaves have good influential combustion results against biobriquettes.
