Abstract

The production of biogas as a source of electrical energy is one answer to overcome the limitations of fossil energy sources such as petroleum, coal and natural gas. Fuel is one of the basic needs that can not be separated from the needs of the community. Therefore it is necessary efforts to find alternative renewable energy and environmentally friendly. Biogas is a renewable energy source produced by anaerobic fermentation of organic material. In this research, the raw material is cow manure using Fixed Dome Digester steady state process. Production of biogas produced will be used as fuel for the generator is converted into electrical energy with a load of 0.3 kW. Results of this research was obtained ignition time generator with a load of 0.3 kW for 48 minutes with 1,718 m3/day of biogas production, the content of methane (CH4) 53.22 % mole, carbon dioxide (CO2) 37.46 % mole and GHV 528 Btu / cuft.
