Abstract

Traffic density in big cities in Indonesia indicates increasing public purchasing power of vehicles. Almost every day we see congestion at the intersection points of traffic because of the many people who already use private vehicles. Often this bottleneck has a lot of bad impacts and losses for the road users, frequent delays when someone will go to office or school, the amount of fuel spent in vain, until often this traffic jam caused fatigue to the road users and cause the rider not focus Until finally the accident. The congestion also has an impact on ambulances and fire engines. Although the vehicle is a vehicle that is given a special priorita for red lights, but often when the path is passed the vehicle is a red light, the vehicle must follow the queue at the red light because other vehicles can not go when the street or other paths are green light, because Will cause an accident. Therefore, the design of this smart traffic lights is done to detect when there are red light-free vehicles such as ambulances and firefighters that pass on one lane to meperlancar the speed of the vehicle, by making the previous light red to green. On the highway was made an installed gate an RFID Reader controlled by arduino uno microcontroller and On the Red Light Free Vehicle installed RFID Tag as the identity of the red light vehicle. In this experiment RFID Reader serves to detect when a red light-free vehicle passes through the gate. The monitor series serves to monitor whether vehicles passing through RFID Reader gates use pre-programmed RFID Tags, in order to prevent vehicles other than red light-free vehicles using other RFID Tags utilizing this facility.
