One of the problemsin distributing electrical power tothe center of the load isthe deterioration ofpower factorcausedby the use ofelectricalinductiveloads, likeelectricmotors and electronic devices. The researcher did observations through a case studyat PT Semen Baturaja Site Palembang to find out the effect ofcapacitorbank installation on the auxiliary equipment to improve power factorwhere thecompensatorcapacitorbankgeneratescapacitivereactivepower(Leading) in order to counter theinductivereactive power(Lagging) in electrical loadof threephases. Based on the calculation, initialpower factoris 0.89and after the improvement becomes 0.99where Qc is 50,47kVAR. The capacitorsusedat PT Semen Baturaja Site Palembangis connectedin triangle(Delta), therefore, capacitance of the capacitoris1112,84μF. Based on the calculate, the advantage of capacitor bank installationcan reduce the current of 31 A / 12,95 %.
