Abstract
The purpose of this reaserch was to determine some barriers in the implementation of an electronic filing system based on Microsoft Access at PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) Regional Division III South Sumatera. The data was taken from interview, questionaire, observation, and library research. The data was analyzed by using qualitative techniques. The result shows, there were internal and external barriers in the implementation of an electronic filing system on Microsoft Access at PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) Regional Division III South Sumatera. There were four internal barriers, they were: the employees did not understand how to use of the electronic filing system, the employees did not use similar application, some employees did not want to used the electronic filing system, there was not oversight in the application system also. Furthermore, the external barrier were the difficulties in the electronic filing system when there were not electric system, the lack of equipments used of the electronic filing system, there were more damage of the electronic filing system equpments that make they were not run well, the difficulites for backing data up and the last, there were overloading data on computer system.
