Abstract
The Research aims at using Malang Apple as the main ingredient for Churros snack. The problem wasdeveloped to answer “what are the steps in innovating apple Churros?”. Under qualitative research, the method was modified steps from Research and Development (R&D) Method by Borg and Gall (1983). They were eight steps applied in this research: research and development collection, planning, developing preliminary product, preliminary product testing, preliminary revision, main product testing, main product revision, and dissemination. There were 4 experts in preliminary testing and 10 participants in main product testing included as participants of the research. Using literature studies and interviews to collect the data, it was found that the processes of Apple Churros development mainly included two testing: preliminary product testing, and main product testing. The revisions from the twotesting were focused on the taste, texture, and color of the product. Moreover, the time to fry the dough on heat was also revised. Due to time and budget constraints, it was suggested to have more participants for better product and business prospects in the future.
