Abstract
Making Fuel from Solid Waste Crumb Rubber Factory by Catalytic Cracking Process (Apriyansah, 2014:59 pages,16 tables,20 pictures,4 enclousers) Energy is an important thing in human life because virtually all human activity always requires energy. Therefore, research needs to solve that problem by making alternative energy by reusing of solid waste from crumb rubber factory become into liquid fuel alternatives. Solid Waste of Crumb Rubber that we use derives of Micro Blending and Macro Blending process from that process producced any waste called as solid waste of Crumb Rubber Nowadays this waste not recycle optimally. The base structure of rubber is linear chain of isoprene unit (C5H8)n rubber is a polymer of hydrocarbon, namely 2-metil-1,3 butadiane (isoprene). The main purpose of this research is the determination of optimum weight of catalyst in catalytic cracking process of solid waste as raw material isoprene liquid fuel. From this research will demonstrate the optimum weight of catalyst to produce liquid fuel. Operating condition takes place at atmospheric pressure with catalyst variations ranging from 5,10,15,20, and 25 grams for an hours. The result showed that the percent conversion of the raw materials into a liquid fuel product got the highest at weight of catalyst 15 grams, temperature 2500 C as many as 74 percent. Can be concluded that the liquid fuel product consist of three componenets they are light fraction, semi-light fraction, and weight fraction.
