Abstract

THE DESIGN OF PEAT WATER TREATMENT UNIT BY USING AERATION PROCESS, COAGULATION AND FILTRATION TO REDUCE THE CONTENT OF ORGANIC AND Mn (Depi Oktari, 2014, 50 Pages, 8 Tables, 13 Figures, … Attachments) The design of the water treatment unit with the turf aeration, coagulation and filtration is made to process the peat water into clean water. In the first tank aeration tank which is made of glass. The second tank is a tank coagulation. In the first filter is a type of conventional activated carbon filtration and the second filter is a kind of modern cartridge filtration, the filter serves both to reduce the levels of metals such as manganese (Mn) and organic substances contained in the peat water samples. Test the performance of these tools is done with 5 types of timing variations. Sample pre-treatment consists of treatment of the initial preparation of samples by means of aeration and coagulation. From the obtained performance testing tool is the best type of filtration process is the type of filtration to 5, where the analysis of peat water treatment product meet Ministry of Health standards No.416/Menkes/Per/IX/1990 by analyzing two parameters, the end result is the best product generated from time to 5 are from analysis of the initial levels, manganese (Mn) is 1.54 mg / L and Organic Matter Content of 395 mg / L.
