Abstract

ELPIJI GAS LEAK DECECTOR AND SAFETY WITH SENSOR MQ-5 BASED MICROCONTROLLER ATMEGA8 M.BAYU TRISNANDA One of the tools is needed by humans to reduce the negative impact of LPG leak is detector and safety LPG leak tool. This tool is able to detect LPG leak to detect the presence of gas contamination on the sensor and the data is received by sensor, then the data will be processed., it will be known there is the gas leak and the microcontroller will send voltage to be used as input by the buzzer, then buzzer produce sound, then provide relief by turning off the lights AC which can cause a fire and turns on the fan which will dispose of the gas, which is not the LPG gas buildup. The tool used MQ-5 sensor. Where the MQ-5 gas sensor has high accuracy, good sensitivity, fast response, stable, durable and ease of design when compared to other gas sensors. Sensor MQ-5 has a detection range be`tween 200-10000 ppm LPG and can be operated at 5 V DC power supply. The tool used ATmega8 microcontroller and 1 buzzer, 1 DC fan, 1 piece of LCD, AC and 1 piece of light as a simulation of electricity in the room. This tool is designed to assist users in detecting and handling of LPG leak so as to avoid the negative impacts of such an explosion.
