Abstract

Asphalt Concrete-Wearing Course is one of the harder layer which the fungtion is as a threadbare layer which has a directly related with the vehicle tires. In the mixing process, sometimes the process is not at the proper temperature can be due to change in the weather that occurred during the mixing process, so that it can causes the quality of the asphalt mixture is reduced when compacted is the field. Accordingly the purpose of this research is to determine the temperature effect of Asphalt Concrete-Wearing Course mixing to marshall parameters. In testing conducted, the value of asphalt used is the value of optimum asphalt content that is 5,8 % with a temperature variation of different temperatures ranging from 80ºC, 100ºC, 120ºC, 140ºC, 160ºC, 180ºC and 200ºC. After testing is done, stability value obtained for each variation of temperature ranging from 80ºC to 200ºC values obtained is 1167,33 kg, 1660,67 kg, 1835,33 kg, 3037 kg, 4470 kg, 3566,67 kg and 2518 kg. From the results of this test indicate that the stability of all the researched temperature variations are qualified and optimum stability values are at a temperature of 160ºC is equal to 4470 kg, it can be seen also the effect of temperature changes in the Asphalt Concrete-Wearing Course mix greatly affect the stability value of the asphalt itself, so advisable on Asphalt Concrete-Wearing Course mixing use the right temperature that can produce the optimum stability. Keyword : Asphalt Concrete-Wearing Course (AC-WC), optimum asphalt content (KAO), drop in temperature.
