Abstract

Concrete is a material consisting of a mixture of cement, water, fine aggregate, coarse aggregate, with or without mixed concrete. Concrete is a construction material that is often used in civil engineering such as building bridges, roads, and others. The purpose of this research is to determine the influences addition of coconut fiber at the Compressive Strength and Abration Test concrete. Coconut fibers widely available in many places in Indonesia, and the majority is still not well managed. In this research, coconut fibers are subjected to alkaline treatment with NaOH 1.50 M to improve the structure of the fiber in order to attach to the matrix. Tests were conducted in this research include concrete compressive strength of cube concrete sample, 15x15x15 cm dimension and the abration of concrete ball with diameter 8 cm. Variations fibers 0%, 0.25%, 0.5%, 0.75% and 1%. Where testing is done on the press day 7th,14th and 28th, and the Abration will be held on 28th day. And the planned concrete quality is K-250. The test results showed the use of coconut fibers for concrete compressive strength 28 days, optimum fiber obtained on the addition of coconut fiber alkali treatment of 0.75% with a compressive strength of 280.77 kg / cm2 which is an increase of 1.07% when compared to the Compressive Strength Concrete 0%. and on the Abration of concrete at 28 days the percentage of fibers present in 0.5% with a percentage of 30.90% wear test. And the concrete without fibers ( Normal Concrete) of 36.75%. Keywords: Concrete fiber; Coconut fibers; Compressive Strength; Concrete Abration; Alkalization; NaOH;
