Abstract

ABSTRACT THE EFFECT OF DC MOTOR SPEED AT PROPELLER DISPLAY BASED ON MICROCONTROLLER ATTINY 2313 WANDA IRAWAN In general, an instrument display that can display characters and moves in large quantities, requires a lot of LEDs. The viewer 5x7 dot matrix, requiring 35 pieces of LEDs to form a character and it would be much more if the LEDs make a sentence, Therefore it is necessary to have a display technology that can address these problems. Persistence of Vision (POV) is a theory that is used in propeller display, which reveals the inability of the human eye to see the changing images quickly rotated using a motor. The purpose of this scheme is to create a microcontroller-based instrument display which can display various characters of letters, numbers and symbols with the principle of Persistence of Vision (POV), so will conserve the number of LEDs and looks attractive. Propeller display works by rotating 8 LEDs arranged vertically controlled using a microcontroller ATtiny 2313. At certain speeds can effect a display case characters, numbers and symbols. With the rotation of the DC motor is very fast, the inability of the human eye to see rapid succession as if the image seen by the eye is stationary.
