Abstract

Testing in the maintenance of transformers one of which is in the form of Prisoners testing insulation and Polarization Index. Measurements were taken at each winding directly to the ground using a megger. So from this test can be calculated that the value of Polarization Index measurement for 10 minutes compared with the results of insulation resistance measurement 1 minute. Polarization Index is an indication of dryness and cleanliness of the coils. Writer wanted to know how much influence the polarization index value that results will determine whether the equipment is safe to operate. Based on the results of the discussion about the value of polarization index 3 power transformer 30 MVA 70/20 kV at substation Bukit Siguntang PT.PLN (Persero) Palembang, it appears that the average value of polarization index before maintenance was 2.92 shows that the transformer is in good condition, and the average value of IP - 3 after average transformers at substation Bukit Siguntang is very good 4.12. Namely the transformer windings after cleaning increased 1.2. The increasing age of the transformer if it is not done, the maintenance of transformer Polarization Index value will decline.
