Abstract

Depletion of fuel oil (BBM) encourage efforts to find alternative energy that can be updated to support the need for energy. Therefore, it is looked for alternative sources of raw materials and the potential is lignocellulosic biomass. This study uses the crown of the pineapple as the main raw material. This biomass containing cellulose that can be utilized as bioethanol. This is also to improve the quality of pineapple crowns waste which has not been widely used. This study was conducted to produce ethanol by fermentation of cellulose pineapple crown by looking at the effect of weight Urea and NPK to produce bioethanol that it is reviewed from bioethanol volume and content of bioethanol. To see the effect of both these nutrients, the addition of urea and NPK with each level adding urea used are (0.1; 0.3; 0.5) grams while the addition of NPK levels used are (0.1, 0 , 2; 0.3) grams. From the results of research conducted shows that a growing number of Urea and NPK were added to the results of the volume of bioethanol and bioethanol levels increased. Conditions in achieving optimum volume levels of bioethanol and bioethanol from fermented pineapple crown that is with the addition of 0.3 grams of urea and 0.2 grams of NPK in producing bioethanol volume of 13.8 ml and a concentration of 2.37% bioethanol. Keywords : Pineapple Crown, Bioethanol, Helignification, Hydrolysis, and Fermentation.
