Abstract

PLAN BUILDING OF TOWER CRANE PROTOTYPE AS A MEDIA SIMULATION DESIGN OF TOWER CRANE WITH EIGHT TONNES LIFTING CAPACITY (2013 : xiv ± 91 pages) Tower crane is one of the tools that we can find in almost every process of building a multi-storey. Today, the tower crane can be made to lift the required load. The main purpose of the prototype design tower crane is to design how the workings of a tower crane with a lifting capacity of 8 tonnes, which can raise and lower the load movement, twist boom / jib, as well as the horizontal movement. Calculations on planning tower crane with a lifting capacity of eight tonnes this will include planning components such as steel ropes, pulleys, drums, hooks, motor, and load balance in the construction boom / jib using references from N.Rudenko, the book written language by changing of Ir. Nazar Foead the "Mesin Pengangkat", 1994, Jakarta: Erlangga. Planning tower crane will be made in the form of prototype with the same working principle which has the ability to perform the slewing of boom / jib, hoisting of the load, trolling movement. The prototype consists of three order made under the order, the middle frame, and the frame that takes for 151.614 minutes and workmanship requires the production cost of Rp 2,302,800.00. Results from a prototype design tower crane can also be used as a medium of teaching in learning about the working principle of tower crane for students of mechanical engineering, Polytechnic of Sriwijaya.
