The title of this final report was “The Arrangement of Office Layout in Supporting Employee’s Working Activity in Service Room of Business Administration Department, state Polytechnic of Sriwijaya. Based on the data that had been collected, the author finded some problems about office layout which had not been arranged by using office layout theory in service room of Administration Departement. The layout in Administration Room had not been appropriate with the current work because the placement of the secretary of business administration department room was not palced near the head business administration of department job was related to the secretary of business administration department job. It was the same with space administration employee’s major’s which had not been appropriate with the principle of the shortest distance because the placement of administration employee’s major’s (1) was located on the ground floor and administration employee’s major’s (2) was located on the 1st floor so that when doing a fast work, it needed long time in finishing that work because the distance was far. One of the best series in layout was about the principle of the shortest distance. The shortest distance ould be achieved if the workers / employee’s or the equipments were put rowly based on the steps of finishing work process. According to this principle, a work has always move forward from the beginning until finishing, there were no backward motion or criss cross motion. It did not mean that traveled path has not always like straight line. The most important thing was the process always leads advance toward to completion. The shapes could be angled line or circle, or shapes like the letter or the letter you. Therefore, the author gave suggestion to add a new room for the head of department in order to the employee in administration service room can be more unimpeded an comfortable in working.
