Abstract

The Use of Altman Z-Score and Springate Methods for Predicting Bankruptcy Food and Beverages Company are Listed in Indonesia Stock Exchange Siti Rasikaesti Dewi, (rasikaestidewi@yahoo.com) 2015 (xv +86 halaman) The Purpose of this research is to identify for bankruptcy in food and beverages companies by using Altman Z-Score and Springate methods. The data used in this research is secondary data in the form of financial statements published in Indonesia Stock Exchange in 2011-2013. This research is quantitative with Altman Z-Score and Springate analysis methods. The results of this research have three companies are estimated as bankruptcy by using Altman Z-Score, like PT Tiga Pilar Sejahtera Food Tbk for 2011-2013, PT Nippon Indosari Corporindo in 2013 and PT Indofood Sukses Makmur Tbk in 2011 and 2013. While the use of Springate method, there are three potentially bankrupt companies, like PT Tiga Pilar Sejahtera Food Tbk in 2011, PT Cahaya Kalbar Tbk in 2012, and PT Siantar Top Tbk for 2011-2012. The differences between the two methods are caused by differences financial ratios and the each ratio value is used indicator to identify for bankruptcy companies. So that, the companies have to improvement performance and to do evaluation of the factors that affect so less likely bankruptcy.
