Abstract
Pencemaran udara di dalam ruangan merupakan salah satu permasalahan yang dapat menurunkan kualitas lingkungan serta berdampak negatif terhadap kesehatan manusia. Salah satu tindakan untuk mengatasi permasalahan tersebut dengan menerapkan plant-based air purifier yang memanfaatkan tanaman sebagai media penyaring udara alami. Laporan akhir ini bertujuan merancang dan membangun sistem indikator kualitas udara pada plant-based air purifier berbasis LED dan buzzer yang terintegrasi dengan teknologi Internet of Things (IoT). Laporan akhir ini menggunakan Mikrokontroler ESP32 yang terintegrasi dengan sensor sensor PM2.5 untuk mengukur konsentrasi partikel debu, sensor MQ-135 untuk mendeteksi gas pencemar, sensor DHT22 untuk mengukur suhu dan kelembaban udara, serta sensor Capacitive Soil Moisture untuk mengetahui tingkat kelembaban media tanam. Informasi hasil pembacaan sensor ditampilkan melalui indikator LED yang menunjukkan kondisi kualitas udara dan kelembaban media tanam, sedangkan buzzer berfungsi sebagai alarm ketika kualitas udara berada pada kategori buruk. Selain itu, seluruh parameter sensor dapat dipantau secara real-time melalui aplikasi Blynk. Indoor air pollution is an issue that can degrade environmental quality and negatively impact human health. One approach to addressing this problem is the use of plant-based air purifiers, which utilize plants as natural air filtration media. Therefore, this research aims to design and develop an air quality indicator system for a plant-based air purifier featuring LED and a buzzer that is integrated with Internet of Things (IoT) technology. This study utilizes an ESP32 microcontroller integrated with a PM2.5 sensor to measure dust particle concentration, an MQ-135 sensor to detect pollutant gases, a DHT22 sensor to measure air temperature and humidity, and a capacitive soil moisture sensor to monitor the moisture level of the growing medium. Sensor readings are displayed via LED indicators that show air quality and soil moisture conditions, while a buzzer serves as an alarm when air quality falls into the poor category. Additionally, all sensor parameters can be monitored in real-time via the Blynk application.
