Abstract

DESIGNING STORYBOOK “THE FRIENDSHIP OF PEMPEK AND CUKO” FOR CHILDREN (Aliyah Saraswati, 2016, 77 pages, 2 charts, 78 pictures and 1 table) This research aims to find out designing storybook “The Friendship of Pempek and Cuko” for children. The problems are "how to design the storybook telling about Pempek’s and Cuko characteristics related to moral values?" and "what moral values should ne equipped in the storybook for 6-9 years old?". The method of this report is Research and Development (R&D) Modified method developed by Sukmadinata. The research techniques for collecting the data are interview and documentation. Based on the findings, the writer found that the this storybook can be an option for children to read with the cultural theme started from reviewing, surveying, testing and revision. The conclusion and suggestion are the designing storybook for children not only to entertain the children but also introduce the part of culture of Palembang especially in culinary food
