Abstract

Research influence of installation electrical energy saving devices do with the purpose to know the truth of the performance promised by the tool. The research was conducted on the load of household electronic equipment. The sample of the research is fan, refrigerator, AC portable, dispenser, and lamp. The data were collected by measuring current, voltage, and the electrical energy used, directly in electrical circuit household when all of the electronic equipment is turned on. The measurement were carried out in four condition, first, the measurement before electrical energy saving devices installed. Second, the measurement when electrical energy saving devices 1 installed. Third, the measurement when electrical energy saving devices 2 installed. Fourth the measurement when electrical energy saving devices 3 installed. The data will be processed to obtain active power, reactive power, apparent power, power factor, and the electrical energy used in each condition based on the calculation by using the formula and compare it, The results show that, the electrical energy saving devices does have an influence on the energy, electrical power consumption and power factor of electricity in the circuit, there is increased and there is decreased. As the results obtained, the amount of electrical energy consumption in each state sequentially 2,537 kWh, 2,554 kWh, 2,485 kWh, 2.524 Kwh. Cos φ sequentially with 0.69, 0.75, 0.7, and 0.76. This is because the rating of capacitor which are at saving tool, not appropriate, so it is suggested before buy the electrical saving device must be calculated the right rating capacitor to be installed at electrical circuit of household first.
