Abstract

The automatic car parking system could be one of the alternatives that can be applied to solve parking problems that already exist, where the driver usually having difficulty to find an empty parking lot with circling the parking area and waste much time. This automatic parking system uses a microcontroller Atmega16 as the main control, infra red and a photo diode sensor as the detection of vehicles going in and out of the parking lot, the sensor is also located in each parking area that serves as an indicator, motor servo as the motor which will open and close the portal, LCD will display the information of the remaining parking area, and ISD 1820 which serves as an voice indicator. Automatic car parking system equipped with a voice indicator where located at the entrance. When the parking area is full, the portal entrance will not be open until a vehicle get out of the parking area. This is done to make ease the driver to park their vehicle and limit the vehicles entering into a parking area.
