Abstract
THE ANALYSIS OF NITROGEN OXIDES AND CARBON MONOXIDE GAS EMISSION THE BIOBRIQUETTE COMBUSTION RESULT FROM BAGASSE AND COCONUT SHELL MIXTURE Indah Okta Apriani; 52 Pages ; 10 Tabels ; 14 Pictures ; 4 Attachments ; 2016 Demand and consumption of energy is increasing in line with increasing human population and economic growth of society , as well as the development of the industry worldwide . While the availability of oil and gas , especially in Indonesia dwindling . Scarcity and rising oil prices will continue to happen because it is unrenewable . This must be balanced with the provision of alternative energy sources are renewable , abundant and cheap price and the amount affordable by the public . Therefore in anticipation of rising fuel prices, alternative fuel is required to use one of them is biobriket. Biobriket is a qualified alternative fuel consisting of clumps or sticks of charcoal from biomass materials. In this study biobriket made from bagasse and coconut shell with variations in the composition of 30:70, 40:60, 50:50, 60:40 and 70:30 with an adhesive used is starch. This study aims to get gas emissions of NOx and CO, the lowest of compositional variations of combustion mixture biobriket bagasse and coconut shell. Making this biobriket through several stages of preparation of raw material, carbonization, briquetting and product analysis. The results obtained from this study that biobriket 70:30 composition has the lowest gas emissions with NOx value of 18 mg / m3, and CO 321 mg / m3.
