Abstract
An abstratct has an important rule in describing the entire section of a research report, so, it is must be written well. The purpose of this research is to find out kinds of errors the students made in abstracts of final reports. In conducting this research, descriptive method was used. The data were collected from 30 abstract samples written by English Department students who graduated in 2017. The result showed that there were two kinds of errors the students made in writing abstract of final reports: errors in contents and errors in grammar. In conclusion, there were thirds of 30 abstract samples that did not have errors in contents and two-thirds had errors in contents because some abstracts had no conclusion and some others had no result and conclusion. All of the abstracts, including a third of them, had grammatical errors. There were four kinds of errros in grammar: misformation, omission, addition, and misordering. The most common errors were misformation.
