Abstract
The Influence of Potassium Bisulphate in Production of Methyl Ester Sulfonate From Crude Palm Oil (Sholihin Syah Putra, 2014 : 5 Chapters, 64 Pages, 11 Tables, 4 Attacments) The Influence of Potassium Bisulphate in Production of Methyl Ester Sulfonate From Crude Palm Oil. Have done Methyl Ester Sulfonate manufacturing process from raw materials Crude Palm Oil by using potassium bisulfate (KHSO4) as a source of SO3 or sulfonating agent. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of various concentrations. The methodology in this study is the use of process variables such as concentration of sulfonating agent and methyl esters have been performed to obtain the optimum conditions for the sulfonation process by using a rotor mixer. Results of research and analysis in the laboratory obtained the optimal process conditions on the sample 3 with 6 N concentrations and temperatures around 90 °C to produce content of its products with a percent yield of 77.8% and produces surface tension 27.90 dynes/cm. Based on the result of previous research by using a different sulfonating agent.
