Abstract

Effect Delignifikation Bagasse Residu and Sulfuric Acid Concentration Variation of Acid Hydrolysis Process use a Mixture of Cassava-Bagasse Residu to Ethanol Product Yati, 2014, 47 Pages, 7 Figures, 9 Table and 4 attachments. This study aims to use bagasse (lignocellulose types waste) and cassava(starch) residue to be ethanol. The stage processes were minimizing of lignin content to lignin break the bond of cellulose, passing sulfuric acid hydrolysis process which is can change polysaccharides to glucose and anaerob fermentation to be ethanol product with the added of saccharomycess cereviceae and to nutrition as the source of nutrients for microorganism. The mixture of cassava and bagasse residue was about 250 grams, with a ratio of 1:1 to observe the effect of minimizing lignin content and sulfuric acid of concentration variation (0,1 M, 0,15 M, 0,2 M, dan 0,25 M) to volume and also ethanol content product. Based result obtained 42 ml highest volume of ethanol is with ethanol content of 52.97% resulting in a reduction with treatment in minimize of lignin with sulfuric acid concentration of 0.2 M and without treatment minimize of lignin content obtained highest volume of ethanol was 34 ml with ethanol content of 50.41% with sulfuric acid concentration of 0.2 M. This indicates that the presence of lignin content reduction treatment, the volume and concentration of ethanol produced will be higher because lignin can break the bond of cellulose so sulfuric acid hydrolysis process which is can change polysaccharides to glucose.
