Abstract

OPTIMIZATION OF ENERGY SYSTEM ON PT. SURYA ESA PERKASA LPG PLANT THROUGH PINCH ANALYSIS USING ASPEN ENERGY ANALYZER (Muhammad Rizky Zen, 2014, 49 page, 9 table, 17 picture, 2 attachment) Energy crisis that occurred at this time due to the increasing levels of energy use increasingly not worth the availability of existing energy. This problem requires every industry in the world to be able to streamline and minimize energy use for the purposes of the process. The goal of this optimization is to get a Heat Exchanger Network design which can reduce the energy consumption levels and can improve the efficiency and effectiveness of energy use on LPG Refinery Process to benefit General Process Improvements to the industry. Pinch technology is a method that can be used to optimize the heat exchanger network by utilizing the principle of Heat Recovery. Data were collected for making the process simulation using Aspen Hysys for later data extraction to Aspen Energy Analyzer. Once optimized by adding a new heat exchanger, a reduction in energy requirement is the Aftercooler Duty from 1385 kW to 671.4 kW, the Chiller Duty from 3132 kW to 1388 kW, and also the use of the heater can be eliminated resulting in a reduction of energy 2455 kW. From the results of this optimization study, it can be concluded that the optimization of energy systems using Pinch Techhology, energy and cost savings occur significantly in the process of LPG Refinery System in PT.
