Abstract
THE MIXTURE OF WASTE COOKING OIL FROM INDUSTRY AND KEROSENE AS AN ALTERNATIVE ENERGY IN OIL STOVE Yudi Saputra, 2014, 38 Page, 9 Table, 9 Picture, 5 Appendix Waste cooking oil is an alternative material that can replace kerosene as fuel for domestic stoves, because it has a calorific value per unit volume is only 5% lower heating value owned kerosene. Flash point of cooking oil vapor 240- 300oC range, while the flash point of kerosene vapor ranging 38-40oC and used cooking oil viscosity 30 times higher than kerosene. Therefore, the use of used cooking oil as a fuel needs to be mixed with kerosene stoves. From the research that has been done on stove oil, to determine the effect of the optimal fuel mixture to the fuel consumption needed mixing ratio of industrial waste cooking oil and kerosene (100%, 90%: 10%, and 80%: 20%). Based on test data analysis and observations on the characteristics of the oil stove with cooking oil mix fuel and kerosene industry is known that, fuel consumption affecting the performance of the combustion of oil stove with boiling water on the stove application of oil so as to know how much of the mass of fuel to be used. Keywords: cooking oil, kerosene, fuel consumption
