Abstract

Used Lubricating oil contains heavy metals that are harmful to the environment, especially if it is directly dumped into the ground. Processing of used lubricating oil using clays as the adsorbent is one way which is done to control hazardous waste in the environment, by means of lowering the levels of heavy metals in the lubricating oil of the former. The research was done by varying the amount of clay adsorbents (3,6,9, and 12 grams) and contact time of the used lubricating with clay as adsorbents (15,30 and 60 minutes) to the quality of the results of the adsorption on metal levels decrease Lead(Pb). The results of the research showed the decline of metal Lead (Pb) on used lubricant oil. Metal levels of Lead (Pb) used lubricating oil 5.26mg/L and the process treatment 1,26mg/L. The optimum conditions with a total of 6grams adsorbent and the contact time of 30 minutes. Key Word : Clay, lubricating oil, adsorption
