Abstract
Recently, the requicites of energy in the world is increasing while supply of energy from biofuel that be mainfuel at this time is limited. That’s way, it’s needed an alternative source that can solve the energy crisis. Now,once of alternative energy source that was developing is bioethanol. Bioethanol can be produced by glucose fermentation with Saccharomyces cerevisiae yeast. It’s known that durio seeds contain 43,6-46,2 gram carbohydrate every 100gram durio seeds that can be converted into glucose. The experiment Producing Bioethanol from Durio Seeds as Alternative Energy Source has been done. Variable that be examined were fermentation periode, mass of durio seeds powder that used, and comparison of yeast mass to durio seed spowder mass. Based on the experiment result that fermentation stop when it was processed 7 days, durio seeds powder mass that needed to reach maximum ethanol result was 125 gram, and comparison of durio seeds powder mass and Saccharomyces cerevisiae yeast was 1:25.
