Abstract
Casting is the process of formation of a product in a way to soften/melt the product at a given temperature which is then inserted into the mold cavity until the product is frozen. Matter is here serves as a medium for forming a product, so that the results of the product depends on the quality of the mold. The objective of this mold is a trial manufacture of rubber buffer rod through print media with low carbon steel (st.37), so that if successful can be used as reference for mass production. Material products using a rubber compound that is widely available and commonly used by people to get the tire. In this report will be discussed on product design, mold design, manufacturing processes and machining time, the calculation of cost of production molds and mold testing process. Planning and mold making process is based on the theory of the course of casting Department of Mechanical Engineering Production concentration and a few other references that support.
