Abstract
IMPROVEMENT THE QUALITY OF SYNTHETIC ASPHALT FROM WASTE NATURAL TIRE AND (Polyethylene Terephthalate) PLASTIC BY USING WASTE MOTORCYCLE OF OIL (Aliyah, 2014, 48 pages, 11 tables, 14 pictures, 4 appendixes) Increasing needs of asphalt, as an alternative is to create synthetic asphalt from waste natural tire and (Polyethylene Terephthalate) plastic by using waste motorcycle of oil. Thus, in the research aims to know characteristics of mix asphalt on asphalt standard. In this research consist of two processes (the making of synthetic asphalt and mix asphalt). The first process is conducted variation composition of natural tire : plastic: oil with rasio as ; 175:50:275, 160:60:275, 200:100:200, 250:160:100. The results showed that the best composition is 250:160:100. Furthermore, the best composition is used as reference for making mix asphalt. The second process is conducted variation composition for mix asphalt (synthetic asphalt and pure asphalt) with rasio as 30:70, 35:65, 40:60, 50:50. The optimum result of four variations with rasio as 40:60 which values are 190,33 mm in penetration , 325oC in flash point, and 1,2086 gr/ml in specific gravity.
