Abstract
ABSTRACT Symptoms of traffic congestion is not only caused by the increasing volume of vehicles, but can also be caused by other factors. One of these other factors was a point of conflict and a slowdown at a time when there is a vehicle that is doing the rounds in the direction of turning facilities median openings (u-turn). Proportionally the road capacity is impaired due to a number of traffic flow that performs the movement direction needs to be taken into account. Therefore conducted research on turning round Ministry direction (u-turn) at Kolonel H. Barlian street Palembang. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the flow of traffic due to the u-turn and queues that occur due to vehicle manoeuvre. In this research using four variable data, the first is data traffic volume and the second is the geometric data of the road. The data from these two will get the level of service standards at Kolonel H. Barlian street. For the next two data are time-headway and time manoeuvring vehicle as the variable for analysis model of the theory of queues. In determining the level of service standards at Kolonel H. Barlian street used Manual of road capacity method in Indonesia (MKJI) and level of service for u-turn used FIFO queue model method. From the results of data analysis calculations can be obtained the level of service at Kolonel H. Barlian street is B for 0.635 that current stable conditions, average travel speeds down more than 40 km/hour, V/C ratio ≤ 0,7 and Load factor ≤ 0,1. And level of service for the u-turn facilities is ρ > 1,0 which means going the queue which causes resistance or even going so that congestion manoeuvred of the vehicle can be distributed.
