Abstract
This final report discusses the changes of facilities and functions at Masjid Agung Palembang. The main purpose of this final report is to know the changes of facilities and functions at the mosque. The methodology of this final report is qualitative research method. The result of this report shows that the facilities of Masjid Agung Palembang has been changed after in the year of 1774, 1980, 2003 and 2014. There are some facilities that Masjid Agung Palembang does not has as the category of Masjid Agung generally. It does not has boarding school, hospital, as-syifa, orphanage, job fair, Islamic bank, post office, bookstore, wartel and post for the disturbances and natural disasters as a good mosque. Then, the changes were like the shapes, the sizes and the number of each facilities. The changes also happened in the function of Masjid Agung Palembang. The functions are not only the same as the function of mosque generally but because of the facilities, it has more functions. So, Masjid Agung Palembang has four main functions the same as general function and three more functions after the last renovation in 2003. The function is not only a place for praying but also a place for conducting many other activities such as a place for organizing many kinds of Islamic competitions, a place for Islam great day celebrations and wedding celebration, and as a tourism object of cultural heritage. The conclusion shows that Masjid Agung Palembang does not have 10 facilities and each facilities at Masjid Agung Palembang has been changed because of the renovation and it has 3 more functions compared to its general facilities and functions. The suggestion for the foundation and the management of mosque are to organize everything about the mosque well, to complete the facilities, and to promote the mosque continuously in order many people know about Masjid Agung Palembang.
