Abstract

THE DESIGNING BELT FOR BLIND BY USING ULTRASONIC SENSOR AS THE TOOL TO AID IN MOBILITIES ( 2014 : xiv + 47 Pages + Images + Tables + Attachment ) UMI KALSUM Designing belt blind by using ultrasonic sensor is designing a tool used to aid the blind in mobilities. This tool is the new innovation from the final report in 2012 entitled “The Use of Electronic Sensors Ultrasonic Blind On Sticks”. This tool use 2 type of ultrasonic sensor are PING and SRF05 to detection the existence of an object around user with belt as the media. Detect distance of this object can be setting by the program in IC microcontroller, with distance detect which has determind that is maximum 50 cm from user, that is mean when this sensor ultrasonic can not transmit ultrasonic wave more than 50 cm, than microcontroller will be manage that data such as indication that there is obstacle object in front of user, indicator of perceived by user are vibration on the belt and sound that can be heard by earphone. On this final report, belt blind used on the body of waist, before used to mobility this tool must calibration first to know the normal distance belt which used with land by ultrasonic sensor ( PING). Based on tehe result of testing, ultrasonik sensor (PING) and ultrasonic sensor (SRF05) which used have same characteristics that is Vout on PING ans SRF05 sensor both directly proportional with increase detect distance with object and the farther object distance which detection by ultrasonic sensor (PING and SRF05), then the time will be longer is needed by ultrasonic sensor (PING and SRF05) to reflect the wave back to sensor. Key words : ultrasonic sensor (PING), SRF05, blind belt, mobility.
