Abstract
This study aims to analyze the narrative structure of nature travel articles published on the Western Australia Travel Blog using William Labov’s Narrative Structure Theory. A descriptive qualitative method was employed, with five selected nature travel articles as the primary data and books, journals, and other relevant sources as secondary data. The data were collected through documentation using purposive sampling and analyzed using Qualitative Content Analysis (QCA) by identifying the six narrative elements proposed by Labov: abstract, orientation, complicating action, evaluation, resolution, and coda. The findings revealed that all five articles consistently employed the six narrative elements, although they were realized differently according to each article’s narrative style. Evaluation emerged as the most dominant element, while resolution and coda reinforced messages of environmental appreciation, wildlife conservation, and responsible tourism. The study concludes that Labov’s Narrative Structure Theory is an appropriate framework for analyzing official nature travel articles and that narrative structure effectively transforms tourism information into coherent, engaging, and meaningful travel stories that support destination promotion.
