Abstract
Casting is a process of making tools or working units from metal by liquefying the metal in such particular temperature, then pouring it into the mold and let these become cold and freeze at the end. The purposes of making this brass mold are only to ease the producting process, to minimize the time limit and to produce the tools or working units in sort of huge quantity (massive). On this final report, we would like to represent the design and mold producing process for Palembang originally souvenirs. This permanent mold is aimed to propose new method for those who are still using manual ways to produce those art works. This brass mold is built by both the theories from diverse references and also practice derives from experiences of joining casting factory then interview added. But for products in geometric dimension which look exceedingly simple and massively produced, manual method is close to be impossible. This is the reason why the casting method is set to be permanent mold. Finally, this final report shows that by gaining similar result of quality, producing by mold clearly brings more good in stead of cutting of the time for production and minimizing the cost.
